Stress is a sign of disharmony within the person, a “red alert” indicating that something is going wrong, is disharmonious. Life adversities, financial struggles, other people’s pressure on us, may be some of the causes of stress, as they force the person to put excessive effort on certain aspects of his/her life at the expense of others (e.g. personal life, spirituality etc.).
Harmony can be conceived as a state of balanced coexistence of antithetical parts, either within oneself (aspects of the self) or within our external environment (the extent to which we can accept other peoples’ differences and live together in peace). On the other hand, disharmony and stress go hand in hand with tension, nervousness, anger and aggressiveness, which may impair our work performance and ruin our relationships with people around us.
Furthermore, inner disharmony wears down the relationship of love with ourself, lowers our self-esteem, triggers off self-sabotage mechanisms etc. In this seminar, we are exploring the various sources of stress (its 7 layers: objective, cognitive, relationship, existential stress etc.), while we are discussing practical and simple ways to cope with it and relax.
Moreover, we are going to delve a little bit deeper, to explore subtle sources of stress such as the distancing from our real self and the emotional disconnection from significant others in our lives, while working on reconciliation and love exercises to restore inner harmony and balance.
